Hot Happenings Spring 2007

On May 19, 2007, Real Hot Attitude was proud to participate in the Osteoporosis Walk Foundation’s Walk/Run for Bone Health in Independence, Ohio.

Seven Real Hot ladies, along with our husbands, “walked the walk” to show our support for this important organization whose mission is to increase awareness of the debilitating effects of osteoporosis, among all ages, by providing information and education for the wellness of everyone.

We also exhibited our literature and fabulous apparel at our booth at the health fair from 9 to noon held in conjunction with the Walk/Run. Several participants received our hats, casual tees and yoga bags in the morning raffle. One very lucky lady won our wonderful “Menopause Survival Kit” at our “balloon event” at the health fair. She went home with our Real Hot performance hoodie, performance capris, and Real Hot hat, all packed in our Real Hot tote.

This was a great collaboration for Real Hot. We focus on the importance of exercise not only to relieve symptoms like hot flashes and irritability, but also to decrease the risk of osteoporosis, which increases dramatically as we enter perimenopause. We wanted to raise awareness about this fact: You can lose between 0.1 and 1 percent of bone density each year from the time you reach your peak until menopause. And, for every 1% of bone you lose, you increase your risk of fracture by 8 percent!

We talked with many, many women who visited our booth about their personal experiences through perimenopause and menopause. Our visitors were thrilled that Real Hot Attitude is going to raise awareness of natural solutions to menopausal wellness AND change the stereotypes about what really defines “HOT” in menopause!

We had a fun call-in interview from the health fair with Ed “Flash” Ferenc on his Saturday 10:00 a.m. radio show, Flashpoint, 1300 AM Cleveland, where we talked about the exciting Real Hot website launch scheduled for June 21, 2007.

It’s great to get out there and hear what women want to learn about so we can explore those topics on our website. We look forward to participating in many more events throughout the summer to reach our Real Hot community.
